How
to make a reusable template for the application of Thermal Stick,
Fusible Peel
& Stick stabilizer:
*~*~*
1) Hoop a sheet of
heavy cut-away stabilizer.
2) Sew the "Template
File" included with all new appliqué designs from Moonlight's Design
Shoppe. (Some older appliqué designs before
2008 may not include a template file; in this case, sew the first placement
line of the design only.)
3) Remove sew-out
from machine and remove from hoop. Mark a corner of the top with
the name of the design and "top" or "front". Mark on the backside,
"back". This is important to be sure the back side of the design
is traced on to the protective paper of the fusible peel & stick stabilizer.
4) Cut close to
or on top of the running stitches that have been sewn with the template
file.
Note:
Either the cut-out piece or the stencil (pictured) can be used for a template.
The "stencil method" is best for small designs or pieces because it's easily
filed for future use and isn't as easily misplaced or accidentally tossed.
It can also be taped to the stabilizer for accurate tracing without tape
getting in the way.
